I fell in love with scrapbooking in 1994. I would use stencils or cut everything out by hand.
In 2008 I received my first baby bug for christmas. I looked at it and I was like, "uuhhmm what is this??" "what is it for?" Then I saw the intro/tutorial video and I was impressed. I used to be a preschool teacher and I loved to decorate my bulletin boards. At that time I used the sizzix die cutter, and that took forever to do all the cutouts by hand.
Once I got the feel for the cricut, I fell in love and upgraded to the expression, imagination, expression 2, the explore and now the maker. I love it because it saves me time.
I have been making cards and invitations with my cricut ever since then.
